Episode 2

Written by: Edet Crownofglory Patience

I shared a part of my journey in 100 level yesterday, let me share another part today.

Please, click on the link below if you missed the first episode of “The Immunity in Christ”

The Immunity in Christ

Please, fasten your seat belt.

That reminds me, the question we were asked in the examination hall was to write out the full meaning of “CHU” and not COHUM. It was the same answer “College of Humanities.” Sorry about that.

One of those days of being a jejesy on campus and as a God’s girl, I was with my friends scanning the school compound when I saw something that irritated me.

Well, I saw one “hanty” using her hand to assist her stomach by throwing in “Amala” into her mouth. (Amala is made from yam flakes and it’s brownish in nature, just like Eba).

That wasn’t what irritated me, of course not. She actually exposed her hind part. She wore a trouser and her buttocks were exposed, we were seeing her undies.

Oh! That was so disgusting you know?

As a lady, you should consistently watch out for this, mind your sitting position.

As good Samaritans that we were and still are, and most especially we were told today during the message that we shouldn’t keep quiet in the face of evil. We need to speak against and correct evil.

We approached the beautiful lady and told her to adjust her sitting position that her hind part was exposed.

You won’t believe the the type of “thank you” that we got.

She said and I quote “Ti eyin na ba bami fa sile ko poju, e sa ripe mo n jeun lowo”, please don’t be lost, the interpretation of that is that “it won’t be too much for you to adjust my dress for me, you can see that I’m eating”.

What would have been your reaction dear?

I was embarrassed beyond expression.

Without choice, we “crawl – walked” away from there.

We had to burst into laughter just to lighten our mood.

Like seriously? Who does that?

Advertise your “thing” just like that?

Well, it’s no longer news that some people believe that God only sees the heart and doesn’t care about the container. I pray God will enlighten them to know that the Container speaks much about the Content.

Though, I was still a God’s girl but I lost focus. I entered school with the aim of coming out with a First Class result but unfortunately, I lost focus due to many things (stories for another day) but thank God that He found me.

I didn’t lost out completely. When all hope was lost, God used one of my friends to charge me and I got to make Second Class Upper Division. I was still happy with that, you know why?

Despite the fact that I lost focus, God helped me not to have a carry over. His love for me was so massive even when I didn’t realize it.

Why am I sharing this?

πŸ“Œ Somebody out there needs to know that s/he can only find IMMUNITY IN CHRIST.

πŸ“Œ You need to understand that discovering yourself/purpose is as important as life. I didn’t realize this then.

πŸ“Œ Don’t lose focus, no matter what the world throws at you, keep holding on to Him.

πŸ“Œ The world doesn’t have anything to offer you, hence, stop chasing shadows. Romans 12:2

πŸ“Œ Protect and package both the Container and the Content because the Lord owns it all. Romans 12:1

πŸ“Œ Being in campus isn’t the highest peak of life’s achievement, though it’s one of it, hence, hide yourself in Christ so as to have a sure immunity in Him.

πŸ“Œ A wrapped gift is more appreciated than an exposed though expensive gift. Keep yourself and keep your future.

Note: This article may not be coordinated but then, there are two or more lessons to glean from my experience.

God bless you!

  1. Jesus is the source of true success and real joy. You can’t go wrong following Him. Nothing and no one else can satisfy and give you contentment. We are complete in him.
